Educational Events

Orca Concerts does many educational events, including school visits, school concerts, educationally-themed events (like the Clarinettissimo festival), and master-classes, alone or with partners. Please contact us if you’d like to schedule one.

Chamber Music Coaching

In the Fall, Orca Concerts visits schools to play chamber music and encourage students to participate in their Solo and Ensemble contest. Then in winter, we return to coach the students in their ensembles and help them prepare for their performance. Students learn self-actualization, problem solving, confidence, how to work with others, and all about music. Check out our videos about our program, and contact us if you would like to participate.

What you get:
1 hour of class presentation in fall, plus 5 man-hours of coaching in winter - $400
Each additional hour of presentation - $150
    Each additional man-hour of coaching - $40
Information/resources for chamber music - FREE
Student tickets to November Orca Concert - FREE (unlimited)

“Orca Concerts brought a team of professional musicians to work with every group I had on 5 separate occasions. They were all very pleasant to work with, the kids loved them and their coaching was on the highest level. This was a great experience for my students!”
- Jay Gillespie, Director of Bands, Ballard High School

“One of my favorite moments was when a quintet that had previously been counting out loud in order to start together was willing to try starting together without counting. The trumpet player would instead start the group as a conductor would - with breathing and gesture. The sophomore trumpet player had never done that before, but after a few repetitions she was leading with clarity and confidence.”
- Jill Jaques, Coach
